Married at First Sight alum Jamie Otis opened up to the hosts of The Tomorrow Show With Keven Undergaro on Thursday, September 1, and said she couldn’t stop crying after her miscarriage in July.

“I felt kind of silly. You can sense that people around you kind of just want you to … keep going, you know?” the 30-year-old reality personality said, her voice full of emotion. “I remember [husband Doug Hehner] came home from work and I was just trying to stop the crying, but I couldn’t.”

“So he comes up the stairs and he literally just dropped his work bag and everything and came over and let me cry,’ she continued. “It was just so comforting.”

Otis and her husband announced the tragic news via her blog on Thursday, July 14, just a little over a week after she first revealed that they were expecting.

“My heart is so heavy. There are no words to express the pain and sorrow associated with losing our baby Hehner,” the Wifey 101 author wrote at the time. She has since documented the couple’s process of mourning via social media and posts to her blog.

“I would think I would know how to react to that [the miscarriage] being that I’ve delivered stillborns, but it’s just crazy when it happens to you,” she said on The Tomorrow Show Thursday. “It just sucks.”

The couple, who met on season 1 of Married at First Sight, have since named their baby Johnathan Edward Hehner. (“When I read that Johnathan means ‘gift from God’ I silently sobbed and rubbed my belly,” she wrote in a blog post. “(I don’t know why I do this when he isn’t there anymore, but somehow I still feel connected to him in that way.)”

In a post in August, Otis explained that despite the pain that she and Hehner went through, they are ready to try again for another little one. “I don’t know how others handle [losing babies], but for me I have this strange idea that the solution to my problem is to be pregnant again," she wrote. “I just feel like there is an emptiness in me that can’t be filled.”
