Married at First Sight's Jamie Otis has suffered a miscarriage. The reality star announced the sad news on Wednesday, July 13, just one week after revealing she was pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Doug Hehner.
“Our Baby Hehner was just too beautiful for earth. I love him so much — ALWAYS will — and can't wait to meet him in heaven one day. Please pray for us. 💔😢,” the 30-year-old nurse captioned an Instagram photo of a poster that read: “An angel opened up the book of life and wrote down my baby's birth. Then she whispered as she closed the book, ‘He’s too beautiful for earth.’”
Around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning, Otis hinted something was wrong. “Please pray for Doug, me, and our baby Hehner,” she tweeted.
The couple, who met on season 1 of the FYI reality show, announced they were expecting during an appearance on the Today show on July 5. “I feel like I’m trying to wear the tiniest dress because you can barely tell there’s a baby in there,” Otis said during their appearance, in which she wore a tight cream-colored dress.
The pair documented their highs and lows of post-marriage life on Married at First Sight: The First Year.
During the April 26 episode, both gushed about wanting to have a baby.
"I can imagine it now, a little Douglas Hehner coming out with moles all over his face,” Hehner joked. “I got to admit — it did get me a little excited. It does make me wonder what your baby is going to look like.”
