Bing bing bing!

Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy didn't just name their newborn son Bingham because they liked the name; it has major family significance!

"For those wondering, Bingham is my mum's maiden name," the Muse frontman, 33, tweeted Thursday afternoon of his mother Marilyn. "Bing Russell was also Kurt [Russell's] dad. Family connections all around!"

Although the actress' biological father is Bill Hudson, she considers Russell, 60, to be her father. (The actor has been Goldie Hawn's partner for 28 years, although they have never wed.) The tot's full name -- Bingham "Bing" Hawn -- also pays homage to Hudson's mom, 65.

Bing was born Saturday night in L.A. after "4.5 hours of intense pushing," according to Bellamy. "Mum and baby are strong and healthy," he added.

Hudson, 32, has one son -- Ryder, 7 -- with her ex-hubby Chris Robinson.

Back in an April interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Academy Award nominee predicted -- based on an age-old pendulum test -- that she was having a girl. When asked if she'd be disappointed if she didn't have a daughter, Hudson said absolutely not. "If [the baby] comes out a boy -- to see the look on Ryder's face to have a brother?" she gushed. "I mean forget it!"

First of all, we do not know them personally, so what? And there are worse names out there...Mowgli? But, if I do remember correctly, in one of my favorite books "Pride and Prejudice", Mr. Darcys friend, who later marries Elizabeths' sister, isn't his name Mr. Bingham?

I named my son after my moms maiden name, but it goes well with our last name and his middle name. I like how they gave him a family name, but bingham?

I love this name! I know everyone always hates celebrity baby names, but I think this one is so special and not nearly as strange as some believe (Bing Crosby).

Where the hell do these people come up with names like this? It's a horrible name and I wouldn't want my child growing up with such an embarrassing name. Poor kid!!

Bingham Bellamy sound HORRIBLE together. Say that name out loud. It's doesn't flow together well at all. It rolls off the tongue weird and sounds weird. First and last names SHOULD sound good together.
