If family planning in Melissa Rycroft's household were up to daughter Ava Grace, the 2-year-old would be former reality star Rycroft's one and only child. "We're getting closer now [to wanting a second baby]," Rycroft told Us Weekly at the 20th Annual Race to Erase MS event earlier this month in L.A. "When we ask Ava [if she wants a sibling], she says no. Is she ever going to give us a yes? She's so spoiled. She doesn't want to share it."

Having just celebrated her third Mother's Day, Rycroft told Us she couldn't believe how fast time has flown since Ava's 2011 birth. "Toddler years are the best ever!" confirms mom. "Totally beats the whole newborn thing -- she's so fun now!"

As Rycroft explains, Ava isn't the only one in their family wanting to relish life as a threesome for a little while longer. Rycroft's favorite family activity of late? "Quality time, just the three of us. We have to fight for that now with careers and the older she gets," explains Rycroft, going into detail about her ideal day alone with Ava. "I would just love an entire day where we can go to breakfast, go to a movie, go have a picnic and just hang out the three of us."

When asked to offer advice to new celebrity moms, including Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton, both of whom will welcome babies in July, Rycroft's notes were simple: Buckle up!

"You just have to hold on. You read every book to find out what's going to happen . . . but once it happens to you, it turns your life completely upside down," says Rycroft. "You'll have those days where you go, 'This too shall pass! We will get beyond this stage.' But at the end of the day, just to have a healthy little one is such a blessing and we're lucky."
