Mothers know best! First Lady and mom-of-two Michelle Obama has teamed up with the moms of stars including Jonah Hill, Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, and Jennifer Lopez for a new online video campaign, #YourMomCares, to urge Americans to sign up for health care in the final weeks of ACA enrollment.
The video features the celebs' moms reminiscing about their kids as, well, kids. "Alicia was an old soul. Very active, very interested in things," Keys' mom, Terria Joseph, says of the "Girl on Fire" singer. "She only had to hear a song once, and she could play it."
Lopez was similarly advanced. "Jennifer walked at 8 months," her mom, Guadalupe Rodriguez, brags. "And she was climbing out of her crib when she was a year old. At one point, I thought, 'Well, maybe she should be a gymnast.'"
Levine's mom, Patsy Noah, and Hill's mom, Sharon Feldstein, had their hands full, too. "Both of our boys were rambunctious, mischievous, naughty," Noah says of her son and Wolf of Wall Street actor Hill. Adds Feldstein: "Gifted, talented, kind."
"Jonah was a prankster," she continues. "Jonah flooded the elementary school. Jonah would lie on top of my dashboard and literally not get off. Trust me — us moms put up with a lot. But one thing we should never have to put up with is our kids not having health care."
Each of the moms then goes on to talk about why they think it's so important for people to get covered. "There's nothing worse for a mom than feeling that her child is not protected, no matter how old they are," Keys' mother explains. "Do it for your mom."
The closing message comes from Obama, mom to daughters Sasha and Malia. "We nag you because we love you," she says.
