Natalie Portman: My Pregnancy Has Been "Really Calm"

Prepping for mommyhood is no sweat -- at least according to Natalie Portman.
Speaking to reporters backstage at the 16th Annual Critics' Choice Awards in L.A. Friday, the 29-year-old Black Swan star -- who nabbed the Best Actress trophy at the star-studded fete -- said her pregnancy has been relatively easy so far.

"I feel great. I'm through my first trimester," Portman said. "It's been really calm and good."

When the Gianfranco Ferre-clad actress accepted the Best Actress award earlier in the night, she got teary-eyed as she thanked her parents, Avner and Shelley Hershlag.
"If I am a shadow as good a parent, an echo, then I will be the best in the world, so thank you," she told them. She also credited Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky for introducing her to her fiance, choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

"I have to thank you for this incredibly fulfilling experience," she told Aronofsky. "You made me very skinny, and now you're indirectly responsible for getting me fat. You introduced me to my love, Benjamin Millepied, who also choreographed the film, and I am so incredible grateful for that most special of gifts."

Courtney- how is she using her child as a publicity stunt? WTF is wrong with you? She's pregnant and was accepting an award!! Just because she's famous she's not allowed to be happy and human and thank her parents? She's honoring her parents wheras most stars her age are dishonoring them. Pick on someone else because she's as classy as they come and very smart to boot. Not to mention beautiful and mature. You must be a moron to pick on someone like that. Besides, I don't think she needs ANY publicity. Black Swan is going to sweep all of the award shows. This is not a girl you see flaunting for papparazzi, or acting like a fool. this isn't unheard of in hollywood it's called using an unborn child as a publicity stunt. because of the popularity of tabloids and the 24hr news cycle stars don't actually get a private life anymore weather it's during pregnancy or whilst grieving the death of a spouse as for example election day 2008 when the national enquirer sent Paparrazzi to chase after a grieving Joanne Woodward as she was going to vote in the election which shouldn't be for public consumption when your an iconic star like she is and particularly where it was her first outing for business since her beloved husband of nearly 51 years Paul Newman had passed away so obviously she wasn't going to be all happy. besides Natalie has films to promote so she can't back out of red carpet events even if she wanted to that's how hollywood works and always has unless a film is released around her due date and her doctor tells her not to attend the premiere out of fear of going in to labor prematurely or it's on the day she gives birth like the Los Angeles Premiere of Paris Blues was September 27th 1961 just hours after Joanne gave birth to her & paul's middle daughter Melissa so obviously they didn't attend the premiere the only opening of a film they appeared in together on the big screen that they didn't attend for obvious reasons though about a month and a half later they attended the NYC Premiere

why doesn't she shut up just because it's been calm so far doesn't mean something can't go wrong later on down the line
Okay, we KNOW Natalie Portman is pregnant. But we don't need to have minute-by-minute coverage. She's not the first woman to get pregnant and she won't be the last. Enough already!
