Back to daddy duty! Neil Patrick Harris wrapped his book tour this past weekend and returned home to New York City to his husband David Burtka and their two adorable children, twins Gideon and Harper.
The author and actor, 41, took to Twitter on Sunday, Oct. 26, after extended time on the road in promotion of his book, Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography.
"My book tour travels are now complete!" Harris tweeted. "Hope the book gives you a lift. Now back to these amazing knuckleheads. #NYC" Along with the message, he shared a sweet personal photo of himself with his kids.
In the shot, the twins, who turned 4 earlier this month, climb on their father as he walks up a staircase. The blonde tots smile as they hold on to Harris' neck and head for support.
Harris and Burtka, 39, welcomed Gideon and Harper via surrogate in 2010. The happy couple tied the knot in Italy last month after more than 10 years together.
The busy Gone Girl star, who will host the 2015 Academy Awards, spoke to Details after the birth of his children about how his priorities have changed since he and Burtka became parents.
"I'm having to say no to things, like a fun voiceover, that I would probably say yes to otherwise, because it involves an afternoon of driving to Santa Monica and recording," he explained. "I need to stop carving out four-hour chunks to do random things and go home and watch my children grow up."
