So much is happening! Nev Schulman and his topless and pregnant fiancée, Laura Perlongo, turned heads in more ways than one at the 2016 MTV Video Awards on Sunday, August 28. The couple gave a somewhat bizarre interview to Us Weekly on the white carpet before heading into NYC’s Madison Square Garden.
As previously reported, the Catfish star, 31, announced in May that he and Perlongo were expecting their first child. On Sunday night, the mom-to-be went topless and covered her breasts with a green jacket.
“I don’t see why pregnant [women] should not embrace their curvy sexiness,” Schulman told Us of her revealing outfit. Perlongo added, “It’s hard to find stuff that works, and my belly button was sticking out of the dress anyway. Why can’t I feel good?”
The exchange went as one might expect, until, well, things got weird. The future spouses revealed that they are having a little girl, but kept mum on details.
“We just had a name breakthrough,” Perlongo said, without giving the actual name. “Just wanted to let you know that we know what it is.”
The duo’s comments about their recent babymoon to Greece and Amsterdam were just as peculiar. “Contrary to popular belief you can ride on a boat when you’re pregnant,” Perlongo told Us. Schulman chimed in, “We did all the things you are not supposed to do. Let me just say pregnant women can do anything.”
Nevertheless, the couple appear excited about becoming first-time parents. Schulman is pampering his longtime love and occasionally tries to do “a sweet thing” for her like keeping up with her pregnancy cravings.
“[He’s] good at keeping me hydrated,” Perlongo explained. “[I like] frozen yogurt and orange slices, but not together though.”
