Padma Lakshmi: Didn't Know "What to Expect" With Baby Krishna

Padma Lakshmi tells UsMagazine.com her baby daughter Krishna Thea is "just amazing."

"I don't know if I really knew what to expect," the Top Chef star, 39, told Us at the Pampers Dry Max party in NYC Thursday of her 4-week-old.

"People tell you and you do what can to be ready to take care of yourself and the baby, but then when it happens, it's just like nothing you've ever felt before," continued Lakshmi. "You realize you can't really know what it's going to be like until it happens."

How has her life changed?

"Well, it's busy! It's a lot of work being a mom -- but it's just incredible," she says. "It does change you. It's hard to put into words, but life is just different. You have to adjust."

Lakshmi tells Us she's doing her "best" to get sleep with her newborn.

Despite the shut-eye deprivation, "I am really enjoying it," she says of motherhood. "Everything she does [is so cute]."

She's pretty but don't care for that baby name. It is a name of a cult leader and some sort of statue idol thing or spirit people in another country worship.
