Pete Wentz to Fight Ashlee Simpson for Custody of Son Bronx, 2

Let the battle over Bronx begin.
On Tuesday, Pete Wentz submitted legal papers in L.A. (obtained by TMZ) -- asking for joint primary and legal custody of Bronx, his son with estranged wife Ashlee Simpson.

That's not what Simpson, 26, asked for when she filed for divorce from Wentz, 31, last month: the singer-actress sought primary physical custody (and joint legal custody) of their little boy.
Another discrepancy: Wentz requests that each party pay their own legal fees; Ashlee had asked that the Fall Out Boy rocker pay for the both of them.
The young couple wed in May 2008, when Simpson was already three months pregnant with little Bronx, born that fall.
Pals of the pair told Us Weekly that the twosome quickly became overwhelmed by parenthood.
"Ashlee loves Bronx but jumped into marriage and having a baby too quickly," one source told Us in 2009. "They feel they got trapped in a situation they were too young for."

In a statement released after their divorce announcement, Simpson and Wentz said, "We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority."

13No big battle taking place. Appears to be typical legal maneuvering. The woman (now claiming to be girl when married)seeks primary physical to get more money (child support), even though she's the one initiating the divorce(? - typically selfish). Next Simpson wants the man to which she is divorcing to pay HER legal bills - it's all about money. Pete could well also ask for primary physical custody and child support, as well as, for Ashley (the initiator of divorce), to pay his legal fees - but he doesn't - he only asks for equality (50/50) on both custody and expenses - totally fair. I hate other woman that want "equality of the sexes" but let the may pay and give up his child, even when the woman is the one that decides to give up on marriage commitment.
With all the hired help these rich celebs have, I don't understand what has them overwhelmed..they have to get there own bath water?? Sounds like, from what I am reading she is really sticking it to him.

Jennifer: Do you realize HOW MANY COUPLES go through wars over their children when they separate? Mother's or Father's get bitter, so they try to take the kids away and a stab at the other person. I've seen GREAT FATHERS lose their kids because the mother turned the kids against their father. It's really sad. Also, birth control fails.
I think its funny they keep saying they were to young Um newsflash he is 31 and she is 26. Both ages are not young they are grown ups. A 26 yr old would be doen college looking for work and a 31 yr old should have the job he wants. Sorry but this is just a sad exuse. You are grown ups act like ones then.

They're "overwhelmed by parenthood".....uhhh.....they make condoms and birth control for a reason. What did they think having a baby would be like? Easy? Sheesh. These "celebrities" are just lazy jerks.

@Jennifer, where does it say he wants SOLE custody of their child? He's asking for it to be EQUAL and asking for JOINT, reread it! I'd fight for my son too if my husband were to ask for Primary custody.
just when I thought these two WERENT gonna have an ugly court public child custody dispute .. here we go. hes mad at her now for wanting to seperate so now he wants to take his son away and thats wrong. god can ANY celeb couple end things civily and NOT go to war over custody for THEIR child?

I'm curious, what does she do for a living? I hope they can work things about before it turn real ugly. I'll be willing to bet the lil boy will end up with Ashlee, primary custody.
