Pregnant Bethenny Frankel: Taping Housewives Without Booze Was an "Achievement"

Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel says her pregnancy has not been "too hard."
Except for one thing.
"Shooting this season without alcohol was a real achievement. It was like being in the desert without water," Frankel, 39, joked to UsMagazine.com at a screening party for their Bravo show (premieres March 4) at Tenjune in New York City Wednesday night.

The reality star -- who is about 6-and-a-half-months along -- says she really missed her signature "Skinny Girl" martinis. (Which she features in her book, Naturally Thin.)
"But now I have all these delusions that I will continue my sobriety forever," she quipped.
Still Frankel, who is engaged to businessman Jason Hoppy, told Us she "loves being pregnant."

Her stay-fit plan includes "doing yoga 2 to 3 times per week for about an hour each time.
"I'm really eating what I want. Like my book says, your diet's a bank account, but it's just a bigger bank account now," she continues. "And most people either go off the rails and gain 85 pounds, or they're terrified of gaining weight and they get psycho. You've got to be right down the middle. So now I'm writing a book about naturally fit pregnancy. "
She's also "rushed" planning her wedding to Hoppy, which she says will happen "very, very soon."
Hoppy "hasn't really had a say" about the event, which Frankel describes as "not huge crazy, but not teeny tiny. It'll fit my personality to a tee."
One person who may not be there: Housewives co-star Jill Zarin.

"There are a lot of cracks in the foundation of our relationship," Frankel sniped. "The list isn't done yet."

I never said my mother did the example I gave before was and is a great star/person Bethany is just doing this for press thats all and who ever said being pregnant at her age should be a miralce in somewhat correct although bigger stars have had healthy children at her age after bigger problems than drinking oscar winner Patricia Neal for one had her youngest daughter at 39 after surviving a succession of strokes while pregnant and that was in 1965 before ob/gyn's told pregnant/trying to conceive women not to drink

PLEASE here is the storyline- You keep us guessing if Jill is going to show or not. Then, it builds up to the wedding and you still don't know. Jill enters the ceremony right before you say I do and objects to your marriage. You decide not to get married then you back to housewives and become BFF"S with Jill again. hahahaha
while I agree that drinking whyile pregnant is a big no no, I have to say that when my mother was pregnant with my brother (she had lost 2 babies in the second trimester prior to this pregnancy) she was a bag of nerves, so her ob instructed her to drink 2 oz. of wine a day to help relax her. He reasoned that the small amount of alcohol in 2 oz. of red wine was much less detrimental than constant stress to the baby. It seems innocent enough, but my brother has dyslexia, so I dont know if there's a connection.

I cannot believe what "courtney" is spewing. We know a lot more things about ensuring healthy babies than we did 50 years ago. We know that Folic Acid helps prevent Spina Bifida, we know that smoking while pregnant causes babies to be born smaller, and finally we know that drinking during pregnancy can cause Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Even a small amount of drinking while pregnant can cause the baby to be born with FAE (Fetal Alchol Effect). Unfortunately children born with FAE have no physical signs of this syyndrome, but as they age they may develope Learning Disabilities, Impulse problems, lack of judgement, anger issues, etc. My cousin adopted a 3 & 4 year old with FAE, and 5 years later the problems started. My cousin has loved and struggled for these children and will continue to do so, but it has been very difficult, emotionally, financially and physically. So Courtney it is VERY irresposible of you to say it is okay to drink when pregnant, when in fact nothing could be farther from the truth. When pregnant, put the baby first and do not drink. This will save you and your child a lifetime of suffering.

@Courtney Your mother should have not been drinking Sherry when she was pregnant with you. That was the longest sentence I have ever attempted to read. It's called a period. It goes at the end of every sentence.

it wasn't always like nowadays when Ob/Gyns's tell expectant mothers not to drink back in the old days if you drank you didn't stop just because you were pregnant though the example i'm thinking of only ever drank a nip of sherry every once in a while and does to this day and all three of her daughters turned out perfectly fine that being academy award winning actress Joanne Woodward though she was actually pregnant 4 times having miscarried the first of her and hubby Paul Newman's natural children as he'd also had three from his first marriage and bethaney is typical reality tv bimbo material any way
This woman is a sick, nut job! What a complete moron! Her comments are always so idiotic and she is quite talentless. Her books and drinks are not inventions. She has had a lot of good luck in her life. She may have been neglected which explains her need for attention but she has been fortunate enough to have been brought up with money and connections. That's the only reason why she is in the spotlight now. She does have a very big, annoying mouth. She is not funny like she thinks she is and she is a spoiled brat to say the least. She is the "cult of personality" Big personality with nothing to offer. Her audience is pretty stupid! I wish the young ones of today would see the light regarding these useless women, but unfortunately they never will. I can't help myself but comment on this stupidity!
