Parenting requires a lot of patience.
But when it comes to finding out whether she's pregnant with a boy or a girl, Dido says she just can't wait to find out! The 39-year-old singer-songwriter revealed on her blog last month that she and her husband Rohan were expecting their first child. (Many fans were surprised to hear Dido was married to her under-the-radar guy, as she keeps her personal life very private.)
"So as some of you already know, I won't be able to travel to LA for the Oscars ceremony to perform 'If I Rise,'" the star wrote. "Obviously I'm really gutted about not being there… but I'm absolutely thrilled that the wonderful Florence Welch has agreed to step in and sing the (nominated) song!"
The native Brit is due this summer, but she wants to know beforehand whether she should be stocking up on pink or blue onesies. "I'm too curious," she tells the Associated Press. "It's enough of a surprise on the day."
So far, the mom-to-be is embracing her new role. "There's a real calmness about it which I think is really nice," she says. "Your decisions are sort of made for you. You just have this priority that is unchangeable and I think that's a great calmness that comes from that."
Her family's new addition might be the star's top priority, but she's also working on her new album. "I'm nearly done," she says. "Music will just start coming out as this year goes on."
