Broderick, 47, and Parker, 44, announced they were expecting twins in April. "Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate," a rep for the couple told Us. "The entire family is overjoyed."

In May, Broderick joked to David Letterman he was "nervous even thinking about" parenting twins. "I'm ready. You know, I've asked people, 'What's it like to have twins?' One father said, 'I don't recommend it,'" quipped Broderick — currently starring in The Philanthropist on Broadway. "But the rest have been very positive."

A rep for Parker did not return phone calls.

Hospital spokeswoman Maggie Espina would not confirm the news to Usmagazine.com.

The twin girls are the second and third children for the couple, who wed in 1997. They are also parents to James Wilkie Broderick, 6.
