Sofia Vergara has babies on the brain. In the April issue of Vogue, the Modern Family star confirms reports that she's been seeing a fertility specialist. "I have to be careful what I eat because they're freezing my eggs!" the 40-year-old exclaimed before sitting down for lunch with the magazine reporter.
Vergara said she's currently taking hormone pills, "and then after that it is hormone injections." At her age, the Colombian star explained, "they want to get as many good eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they're not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones. My boyfriend [Nick Loeb] is 37, younger than me, never had kids. So." (Vergara did not confirm reports the child will be born via surrogate.)
TV's highest-paid actress is already mom to son Manolo Gonzalez, 21; She named him after Steven Bauer's character in Brian De Palma's Scarface. "My son, when he grew up, he was like, 'Oh yeah, Mom, how amazing you named me after a drug-dealer junkie!'" Vergara laughed. "And I was like, shut up, Manolo!'"
Gonzalez is aware of his mother's plans for another child. "You know, sometimes he used to scream at me when he was younger: 'Why can't you have another baby, so you can stop focusing on me?'" the star joked.
The New Year's Eve actress declined to say much more about her life with Loeb, but she did praise the engagement ring he presented her with last year. "I love it, because it's big enough. If it had been bigger, I couldn't have worn it every day. And if it had been smaller, I wouldn't have liked it," she told Vogue. "It's heavy, but I don't take it off even to work out."
Vergara also chatted about her famously curvy figure -- and the extra effort it takes to make her clothes fit. "I am 40 years old, I had a baby, and I am a 32F boob. And they are real still," she said of her chest. "When they are fake, you take the bra off and they are still there, perfect! Me -- no, so I have to bring them up!"
