Go Julez, go! Solange Knowles shared a sweet video on Instagram of her one and only child, son Julez, reciting a Martin Luther King, Jr. speech on Monday, Jan. 19.
"In the words of the great MLK," Solange, 28, captioned her update.
In the clip, 10-year-old Julez stands tall against a white backdrop as he boldly quotes the late civil rights leader. "'If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward,'" Julez says as his famous mom captures the moment.
King used this quote in several speeches from the '50s through the '60s, up until his assassination in April 1968.
Hours earlier, Solange also shared a second Instagram photo of her son on Monday, hanging out at home on his day off from school.
"I stopped posting pictures of Julez for a few different reasons," the DJ and recording artist wrote alongside a snap of her child sleeping. "But mainly because he often objects to taking them and I like to give him that freedom to choose…but sometimes I use my mommy authority and well here, he had no say so…lol."
Last November, Julez had a special part in Solange's New Orleans wedding to video director Alan Ferguson. Mom and son performed a choreographed dance to Rae Sremmurd's "No Flex Zone" for guests including superstar aunt Beyonce, grandmother Tina Knowles, and more.
Solange shares the child with her ex-husband Daniel Smith, to whom she was married from 2004 to 2007.
