Eva Mendes has another bun in the oven! Multiple sources confirm exclusively to Us Weekly that the actress and her longtime boyfriend, Ryan Gosling, are expecting their second child together.
According to a source, the mom of daughter Esmeralda, 19 months, was spotted hiding her burgeoning bump during a photo shoot in Los Angeles in February.
In an October 9 interview on the Today show, Mendes, 42, revealed that she’s taking a break from Hollywood to focus on her family.
“If I’m even like, ‘Oh, what should I wear? Or, should I do this project? All I have to think about is my daughter and her face, and I know the answer immediately,” the Lost River actress said. “She’s my moral compass in a way.”
Mendes and the Big Short hunk, who met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011, welcomed their daughter, Esmeralda, on September 12, 2014. The actress and Gosling, 35, have yet to share a photo of their little girl.
The Cuban-American star explained her tot’s moniker when she sat down with Wendy Williams on September 16.
“We love The Hunchback of Notre Dame, we loved the name, the cartoon and the novel… it just kind of kept coming back to us,” Mendes shared. “It’s actually a very popular Latin name, so it’s easy for my father and certain family members that still don’t speak English to pronounce. That was a good selling point.”
Mendes said that during her first pregnancy, she logged time on mommy message boards.
“I try not to Google too many things because it is frightening, but I do go to babycenter.com and read the comment sections from other mothers because I find so much solace in that,” she told The Violet Files in November 2014. “Just knowing that I’m not alone out there and that other moms have gone through the same thing can at least get me through the night.”
