Vote Josh Duggar in 2016? Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar's eldest child expressed some strong political views in a recent holiday video for FRC Action, the nonprofit legislative arm of the conservative Christian group Family Research Council. In the video, the 19 Kids and Counting star gives thanks for — among other things — the GOP's successes in the Nov. 4 midterm elections.
"Hey, it's Josh Duggar," he begins the nearly five-minute clip. "You probably know me from 19 Kids and Counting on reality TV. I'm also the executive director of Family Research Council Action here in Washington, D.C."
Noting the Nov. 27 Thanksgiving holiday, he continues: "This is a time of the year when we can reflect on all the things that really matter in life, the things we're truly thankful for. When I think about what FRC Action and my family are truly thankful for during this Thanksgiving holiday season, there are so many things that come to mind. We are truly blessed."
Joined by his wife, Anna, and their three young kids, Josh hops in the car and drives through the nation's capital, all the while discussing his political views. "The U.S. Supreme Court ruling on prayer was a momentous victory for religious liberty, along with the Hobby Lobby case," he notes, later citing Tennessee's Amendment 1 as another victory. (Per the Tennessean, Amendment 1 gives the state legislature more power to regulate abortion.)
"I'm really grateful for the results of the elections as well this year," he continues, "and the fact that we had eight Senate seat pickups, we had 12 in the House, and we had two governorships that we were really involved in as well."
According to his FRC Action profile, 26-year-old Josh has worked part-time for candidates in his home state of Arkansas, as well as on two Presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012. He also founded a political consulting firm, Strategic Political Services, in 2006.
