Alec Baldwin "Assaulted" Photographer After Hospital Scare
On Thursday evening, the same day he checked out of an NYC hospital (he had threatened to "take some pills") Alec Baldwin flew into a rage and grabbed a photographer, multiple outlets are reporting.
"This guy! This guy!" Baldwin yelled at New York Post photographer Tim Wiencis outside his Manhattan apartment; as cops and other photographers stood by, the Emmy-winning actor grabbed Wiencis by the collar. Inside Edition revealed photos from the incident.

The Daily News reports that Baldwin had returned home around 5:30 p.m. from a day of shooting 30 Rock to discover photographers camped outside his building. Wiencis reportedly tapped him on the shoulder. "Don't touch me!" Baldwin snapped. "I'm calling the cops!"
Police quickly pulled Baldwin off of Wiencis and took him back inside. Witnesses overhead Baldwin "pacing around the lobby" muttering "they are the lowest scum of the Earth. They are the lowest scum of the Earth," according to the Daily News.

Of the unexpected outburst, Wiencis told police, "He just assaulted me." He did not file charges, however.
Baldwin, 51, was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital early Thursday morning after his daughter Ireland called 911, claiming that her dad was "unresponsive" in their Upper West Side Apartment.

A spokesperson told Us that the 30 Rock star was "completely fine" after being examined by doctors. According to the Associated Press, Baldwin and Ireland, 14, had an argument in which he threatened to take pills.

"This was a misunderstanding on one person's part," Baldwin's rep told Us Thursday morning. "Alec was quickly released from the hospital he's completely fine and will be at work today."
Baldwin has been in a protracted custody dispute over Ireland with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.

Obviously the Baldwin Public Relations is at work here, MARY. Your comments fail to mention that it was not so long ago when Baldwin himself craved the camera. Clawing to be noticed as an actor. The camera and the photographers behind them are what made Baldwins career, certainly not his acting. Oh and what an awful terrible thing to have someone waiting to take a picture of you. You hypocritical phonies make me sick. You make it sound like we all live in a world of this or that . White and Black. Everything is clear cut like in your simple 3 year old mentality. Well there are professionals who work for legitimate news companies who need to get pictures. And it is their job. Its not unlike the photographers that were probably hired by your private investigator who was following your spouse around. But that's okay right? or How about the "scum" as many people call them, who photograph accidents? Oh what a terrible thing.... Blah Blah Blah The truth is that you are glad they are there when a witness pops up and says it was your fault but the photographer shows what really happened with the pictures. I've heard about him outside his realm when he tries to mingle with the regular people. Baldwin must have forgotten where he came from. So what you like the guys skits on SNL, talk to a few people who have met Baldwin in Long Island or Manhattan and they will all tell you the same thing. Baldwin is an arrogant creep.
Dizzy, that poor victim could have avoided the horrible trauma by having a real job and not being a parasite that hangs around people's front doors and hassles them for a pic. If you saw the thing, that guy was a wuss and he did not get "assaulted". You really are living up to your Ditz name.

Hey, no one knows what Alex has really been going through. Plus, how would you like it if you came home and there was someone trying to get a picture of you. Usually as unflattering as possible. You also do not know what Kim has put Alex through with his daughter. Why are you believing the worst? I am on Alex's side. Gee, I can't wait for Alec Baldwin's book on "Parental Alienation". I bet he has alot of great "insights". Alec Baldwin is a jackass and a typical loudmouth misogynist with nothing better to say than "it's all my ex's fault". Baldwin was asked 2 questions. #1) How are you feeling Mr. Baldwin?â?? and How is your daughter doing?â?? then Baldwin brushed past the photog and then Baldwin whining and claimed he was touched by the photographer, calling for the doorman to call 911 stating that he was â??assaultedâ??. Baldwin went ballistic. Later when the police were trying to calm the distressed glossy-eyed actor, Baldwin with keys in his right hand, ready to jab, was allowed by police to charge after this photographer. Imagine the horror this photographer felt to see this brute Baldwin coming after him while police just stood there doing nothing. This all unfolded on a public sidewalk. What gives Baldwin the right to shove past a cop and assault a photographer. Something is very wrong with what happened here. The police should not have allowed Baldwin to run rampant with those keys and that bad temper.
These guys have been getting in people's faces and provoking confrontations for too long. It's dangerous and I don't care if they get the cr!p beat out of them.
The photographer did not tap Baldwin on the shoulder. Alec Baldwin went into a fit of rage when the photographer asked Baldwin, "How's your daughter doing?". Simply put, Baldwin went bonkers.
Anyone can refuse medical treatment, and can refuse to be brought to er. If he agreed, he was either totally out of it or there was a medical reason for paramedics to bring him. The er probably pumped him with iv fluids and he felt better. Don't blame daughter or exwife. Maybe HE called daughter at 2am. He is totally out of control and always will be
Mary: I like your points. I couldn't help but wonder if Ireland isn't sometimes an instigator in some of these little brouhahas. I mean, I am not a huge fan of Baldwin's personally (professionally I love him but personally not so much) but he is not the only one to say how strange Kim Basinger is and the fact the daughter spends most of her time there I am sure she has learned how to manipulate the situation when she wants to. At the very least, I think Ireland has grown up listening to her mother fighting with her dad and dissing him and probably has learned not to take her dad's concerns/feelings very seriously. I feel the nasty divorce and the fact that BOTH parties couldn't behave like grown-ups has cast a pall over how this girl will treat relationships with both men and women...
I think the paps love to pick on him. They seem to single him out. I hate these guys, they heckle and hassle people and when they get angry they laugh and taunt as they did to Alex. I saw the video. It was hardly an "assault". As for his daughter, he didn't answer the phone and she didn't like it huh? He should have had her leave 35 messages over two weeks, after all that's what led to his outburst. She got upset because he's not at her back and call at 2 am, when HE actually WORKS for a living, whereas she and her freeloading mother DON'T? WTH is she trying to call him at 2 am? Are all of you available at 2 am when you have early morning work hours?

If he was fine why did he agree to go the the hospital? The paramedics would not have taken him if he was "fine".
I am a huge Alec Baldwin fan, and I believe he was truly within his rights. I just read the inside edition story, and the paps were outside his home. How is he suppose to come or go without running into them? The paps thrive on prodding celebrites to get a reaction out of them. I think it the photographers should have been asked to leave. They were loitering and trespassing on private property.
I can't believe the word touch_ing is singled out as profanity by US (because it contains the dreaded word: c-h-i-n, I suppose). I couldn't figure out why my post wouldn't work. LOL.
I agree Alec is a bully but in this case I am glad he fought back. These paps are lower than the gum on the bottom of my shoe. They have no right coming up and touch_ing another person like that whether it be a tap on the shoulder or a kiss on the cheek. People should be able to walk down the street without being accosted by a stranger--especially if you are famous since you are more easily targeted.
