Her rep told Usmagazine.com that Alexa Ray Joel, 23, has left St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC after being admitted on Saturday.
Although Billy Joel, 60, was not at the hospital -- he was at his home in Oyster Bay, Long Island, at the time -- he told Newsday late Saturday night that his daughter was okay.

"She is going to be fine," he said.
According to reports, Alexa Ray swallowed an unknown amount of pills in a possible suicide attempt.

Alexa is the only child of the famous musician, 60, and his supermodel wife, Christie Brinkley. Brinkley and Joel married in 1984 before divorcing 10 years later.
Alexa, a songwriter, was among several celebrities scheduled to appear in a tree-lighting ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange this Thursday.

Billy and Christie have seven marriages between them. Her father is an alcoholic who married a girl only a few years older than Alexa. Her stepfather was a creep who had an affair with teenager, has been arrested for drug dealing, is addicted to internet porn and use to verbally abuse this girl. Her mother sounds like a mess who has no idea how to pick a man. No wonder this girl has issues. I hope she gets the help she needs. Be well sweet girl...you are gorgeous and deserve to have a happy life.
Her mother apparently is always on her case about being overweight and is "hard on Alexa". Gee Christie, most folks haven't been married and divorced 4 times by age 55. Christie looks the way she does because she's had at least one facelift, and eye lift, Botox and chemical peels, if she didn't have those things done, she would look like a regular person at 55. She has always come across as shallow, and with a parent like that, Alexa probably has been in therapy for years. Alexa has her father's looks, so what, get over it, the poor thing needs help and probably needs to get away from her mother.

Her parents divorcing, her mother remarrying three hundred times and her father just as unstable, no wonder she is such a mess. This is another confirmation that celebrity couples with severe issues of their own can not offer a stable environment to raise children therefore should not have any.
wow, no wonder, her dad did not even bother to go there or be with her right now. If I just have a simple doctors appointment one of my parents always ask if I want one of them to go with me or drive me, that's just how they are. Sad after what happend to her & all she seems to be going through all he sounds like is "she's OK" & he is not even with her. She's not OK, seems if she's been depressed for years he is ignoring it. Depression is a tough illness and it comes and goes at anytime. I lost my sister to suicide and its a darkness and hopeless feeling that's tough to pull out of. Alexa, please get some help - reach out to professionals, seek support (not from your parents), so you can get well. If not, you'll only get worse over the years. I'm praying for you Sweetie!
She is an adult. If she is lonely she should get a family of her own.

People magazine says she attempted suicide because she felt 'lonely'. No wonder...her mother is too busy getting married, driving husbands away and getting divorced. Her dad is too worried about his tour and making sure that he doesn't hit a tree or a house again if he drives drunk.
What a piece of garbage he is...he can't show up @ the hospital...why she's not a girl in her 20's that he can screw so it's not worth his time!
The issue here is she is fine now and it is a private matter! Keep moving people just pray she will be alright.

I doubt this was a suicide attempt. AP says that what she swallowed was a homeopathic medicine. She probably thought it would relax her. People think that just because something is "natural" it isn't dangerous, but sometimes they're just as deadly.
If my daughter tried to kill herself, NOBODY could keep me away from the hospital she was admitted in. Alexa's father is a sorry piece of s**t! Where was he when she almost died?
The crawler on E! channel said Alexa attempted suicide after a horrible argument w/her boyfriend. Alexa is a beautiful and talented woman and NO MAN is worth suicide!
It is sad it came to this but sucide is not the answer. I wish to her to solve her problems and live her life happily.She is a beautiful young lady.
@R - really? You really think that is what should have happend? Do you have any idea why he may not have been there? First, when you read this kind of junk - understand just one thing if nothing else - there is always going to be 'spin' honey - its not your fault or mine - but the way we respond just goes to show how much junk we buy into - he is also 60 years old...whatever the reason, its simply between them...its just like you commenting on what he should be doing or should have done - who cares what you think? who cares what they did and why....sheesh.
His only child makes a suicide attempt according to the papers and all he could think of "he didn't go to the hospital because he didn't want to make it into a media circus". Give me a break!!!!!
Wow, this is a really sad story. What great role models 75% of these celebrities make...just take some pills or overdose on some drugs-cause that's the answer to everything in life. TRY LIVING A NORMAL EVERY DAY, MIDDLE CLASS CITIZEN, TYPE OF LIFE STYLE AND THEN RETHINK YOUR OWN LIFE STYLE. THESE PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK.
