It was a meeting of the worlds, but reality star Ali Fedotowsky was glad to avoid recognition on the set of Blue Jasmine, she tells Us Weekly. The Bachelorette alum plays a personal trainer in the new Woody Allen flick, but her on-screen clientele, Hollywood A-listers Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin, didn't seem to be aware of Fedotowsky's TV past.
"I was hoping nobody would [recognize me] because I didn't want to be the Bachelorette girl," she told Us at the L.A. premiere on Wednesday, July 24. "I wanted them to think of me as someone who was an actor, not even like an actress, but like a girl who has never had a role and it's her first role."
"I didn't want there to be a stigma for being a reality person," she added, "not that anyone would, but I was like a little bit worried, probably stupidly."
Fedotowsky, 28, was the sixth bachelorette on the hit ABC dating series, and was previously engaged to winner Roberto Martinez, though the pair ultimately called off their engagement in November 2011.
On Wednesday, however, she walked the red carpet with new boyfriend Kevin Manno, and the pair both marveled at the fact that Fedotowsky was rubbing shoulders with some of the industry's best and brightest.
"I'm very proud of her. This is insane," Manno told Us. "She says it's surreal and it's just as surreal for me. Like, what are we doing here? I'm not going to believe it until I see it."
Despite her relative anonymity on-set, however, Fedotowsky had nothing but good things to say about her famous costars.
"[Baldwin] was so nice and was asking me where I was from," she recalled. "He was really conversational in between and made me feel very calm, and Cate was like, 'You know how you looked at me when Alec was walking over to you? Do that again this time, I really liked that.'"
