His legacy lives on. Ali Landry paid tribute to her late father-in-law, who was found murdered in Mexico last month alongside her brother-in-law, in a heartbreaking Throwback Thursday Instagram post on Oct. 22.

"#tbt is one of my favorite photos of my father in law," the former Miss USA, 42, wrote alongside a WhoSay snap of her husband's dad, Juan Manuel Gómez Fernández. "The tears in his eyes reflect the joy, love and pride for his son while watching him on the set directing #littleboythemovie."

In the accompanying photo, Landry's daughter, Estela, gives her grandpa a kiss on the cheek. Meanwhile, the late patriarch of the family proudly looks on at his son, director Alejandro Monteverde, working on the set of his 2015 film, Little Boy. "#familyfirst #wewillforeverhonoryourlegacy #purelove," Landry concluded.

Landry's father-in-law and brother-in-law, Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde, were found murdered on Sept. 19 in a remote area of Mexico's Veracruz region after they were kidnapped outside their home on Sept. 4. The men, who were held hostage for a little over two weeks, had their ashes scattered by Landry and other family members off the coast of Tampico, Mexico, on Sept. 23.

After a month of mourning, Landry finally spoke out about the awful and heartbreaking situation this past weekend.

"I want to thank all of you for your love, support and prayers during this time of grief. Yes, the events surrounding my family were tragic and what has happened will profoundly affect our lives forever," she wrote on Oct. 16. "But my Father in Law was the kind of man that radiated pure joy and it was infectious. He loved and adored his family more than anything… He was my husbands hero and like my second Dad."

She also spoke affectionately about her late brother-in-law, describing him as "a wonderful friend, an amazing husband, and a great father to his two beautiful children."

Despite the circumstances — which are still under investigation — Landry concluded her post by saying her family will emerge from this together. "We are determined not to allow this event to define them or our lives," she wrote. "We want to remember the beauty, the innocence, and the light that they represented, and to continue their legacy and always put family first."
