The Danish Girl actress hugged and put her arm around a female friend, believed to be her neighbor Raquel Rose Pennington, as they left an office building in Los Angeles following a four-hour meeting with Heard's legal team. The 30-year-old clasped a laptop computer and wasn't wearing her engagement or wedding rings as she walked toward her car.

Heard's lighter mood came just one day after she appeared in a Los Angeles court to apply for a restraining order against her husband of 15 months. She appeared to have a bruise on her face, which she claimed in court papers was from a violent altercation she had with the Pirates of the Caribbean star on May 21. Heard filed for divorce two days after the alleged fight.

In her declaration on Friday, May 27, the Magic Mike XXL star stated that she's "extremely afraid" of Depp, 52, who she alleges has a long history of substance abuse problems and assaulted her on her birthday in April.

Police told Us Weekly that despite the actress' claims, they saw no evidence for a report when they were called to the couple's home on May 21.

Depp's divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser, wrote in court papers that Heard, who met Depp when they costarred in The Rum Diary in 2009, is "attempting to secure" financial gain in the divorce settlement with her allegations of domestic abuse.

The actor's former partner Vanessa Paradis, who has two children — Lily-Rose, 17, and Jack, 14 — with Depp, reportedly wrote a letter on Friday defending her ex. In the note, the French actress and singer, who split with Depp in 2012, wrote that she believes the allegations being made by Heard are "outrageous."

"In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years," she added.
