Invite Us next time! Amy Schumer dished new details about her epic Hamptons getaway last week with Jennifer Lawrence during her sit-down on The Daily Show on Monday, Aug. 3.
“Once a year, I go away with all my girlfriends from high school,” Schumer, 34, told host Jon Stewart. Last year, the crew hit up Martha’s Vineyard, but they were disinvited by the charming New England island for reasons unknown. “[We got thrown] off the whole island,” Schumer noted, adding that it was “none of your business” why.
This year, the gaggle of girlfriends decided to hit up the celebrity-beloved haunt of the Hamptons (in her native Long Island, N.Y.), and that’s where Schumer ran into Lawrence, 24, whom she described as the “coolest chick you’ll ever meet.”
“I was like, ‘Oh, we’re going on a boat tomorrow. You should come.’ It was kind of a hypothetical,” the Trainwreck star told Stewart. “And she was like, ‘I think I’m coming.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God!'” Schumer filmed her friends reacting to the news of the Oscar winner joining them on the boat. “They’re all like nurses and teachers… and they were all like, screaming.”
The two pals were photographed bonding throughout the trip, zipping around on jet skis, lounging on massive floaties, and forming human pyramids on the boat.
“In all these pictures, it was a complete viral thing,” Schumer said of the many snaps. “I look like her coach. I look like I just got finished telling her to take a knee.”
