Long distance love affairs are never easy -- take it from AnnaLynne McCord.

The 24-year-old actress' boyfriend Dominic Purcell is currently filming Vikingdom in Malaysia, which McCord says is putting a strain on their three-month courtship.

"Right now it sucks," McCord told Us Weekly at the Somaly Mam Foundation Gala in NYC Thursday. "I keep getting pictures of him in all his Viking outfits, and I'm like, 'Are you just trying to tease me?' He just left a week ago and it feels like a month or a year."

Despite the many miles between them, McCord said Purcell's absence has only made her heart grow fonder. "If 90210 makes the mistake of giving me a four-day weekend, I'm going to get on a flight to go see him," she laughed.

According to McCord, Prison Break alum Purcell, 41, went "on this crazy diet of like eight pieces of fish and nine pounds of brown rice a day" to prepare for his role in Vikingdom; he also grew out his hair for the film.

"He's channeling Daniel Day Lewis right now from Last of the Mohicans, and I think it's really sexy," McCord told Us. "I really like him with a shaved head, which is what he prefers, but the long hair is definitely a look."

My boyfriend and I have been dating long distance for almost a year now. Yeah, it's tough, but worth it. We love each other, and for us, a little distance makes our relationship even stronger. In some cases, absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder, but in ours, it does. But honestly, long-distance relationships are not for everyone. Maybe she's just one of those for whom it doesn't work. No need to get so critical about it.

The previous "military spouse" should really consider that we, yes I said we, know how hard it is to be separated from your loved one so we should empathize more than criticize. But I suppose its more fun to jump on something simple like a pihranna on a rampage to vent your issues.
