She may have won an Oscar earlier this year, but Anne Hathaway has been keeping a relatively low profile since the February awards show. Apart from a brief cameo in Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s film Don Jon, Hathaway is yet to appear on the big screen since her award-winning (and tear-stained) performance as Fantine in 2013’s Les Miserables film adaptation.
But on Sunday, Oct. 20 Hathaway, 30, stepped out with hubby Adam Shulman looking chic and sophisticated wearing a black, ankle-length Vionnet dress at the 9th Annual Pink Party sponsored by Fiji Water in Beverly Hills.
Shulman, 32, stood by his wife of one year as she gave a speech. According to observers at the event, Hathaway got visibly choked up while introducing Dr. Beth Karlan.
“On a personal note, Dr. Karlan helped a beloved friend of mine…excuse me,” she said, her eyes welling up with tears. “She helped a beloved friend of mine battle cancer recently and I couldn’t be more grateful to her. Dr. Karlan, you are more than just my friend’s doctor. You’re a friend and ally. And I’m happy to say that together you kicked that cancer’s ass.”
Luckily Hathaway had her husband at her side the entire time, and the couple looked more in love than ever both on stage and while enjoying the event’s fashion show. Shulman bid on the 1-year lease of a convertible Porsche, but was ultimately outbid by $3k. The couple was affectionate throughout the night with Shulman putting his arm around his wife as they whispered to one another.
They were later spotted shopping at a West Hollywood Whole Foods in their event outfits.
Hathaway married the American Dreams actor in September 2012, and the two have been practically inseparable since.
“I’ll be hosting lots of dinners at my house,” she told Access Hollywood in January 2013 of her post-Les Mis downtime. “We’re nesting, playing with my dog — we’re chilling.”
Hathaway will next appear in the film Don Peyote, which is set to come out later this year.
