Secret lovers. Aubrey Plaza revealed in a new interview that she once dated her Scott Pilgrim vs. the World costar Michael Cera — and that they even toyed with the idea of getting hitched!

The 32-year-old actress’ surprising revelation came about during a sit-down for RuPaul and Michelle Visage’s podcast, What’s the Tee?, after RuPaul mentioned that he found Cera, 28, “sexy.”

“Oh, Michael. I dated him for a long time,” the Parks and Recreation star said. A startled RuPaul responded with, “You did?” and asked for a clarification of what “a long time” meant to Plaza.

“A year and a half,” the actress responded. “We drove across the country after we shot that movie and almost got married in Vegas.”

RuPaul pressed further, asking the notoriously private star if perhaps the pair decided to date because they were already spending so much time together on set.

“Oh, like animals in captivity?” Plaza replied. “Everyone just wants to f–k each other?” She noted that this wasn’t the case in their situation. “We love each other. We’re still really good friends,” she said. “He’s just a weird little freak, and we speak the same language. He’s one of the funniest people I know.”

In July, Plaza came out to the public as bisexual during an interview with The Advocate.

“I know I have an androgynous thing going on, and there’s something masculine about my energy,” she told the publication. “Girls are into me — that’s no secret. Hey, I’m into them too. I fall in love with girls and guys.”

The comedy star added that she grew up surrounded by a supportive LGBT community and always felt very comfortable being herself. “There was this gay community [in Wilmington, Delaware,] that really welcomed me,” she said of her theater background. “All my friends were gay. I went to an all-girls Catholic school in a very conservative neighborhood, but I felt at 12, 13 that my home was this theater and that those were my people.”
