No leg-throwing here! Real Housewives of New York City star Aviva Drescher‘s 76-year-old father, George Teichner, followed through with his promise to marry his 25-year-old girlfriend Dana Lavette Cody. The outspoken elder and nail salon owner tied the knot in Malibu, Calif., on Sunday, Aug. 3, in an intimate ceremony that took place on the beach alongside posh eatery Nobu Malibu. One guest noticeably absent was George’s reality star daughter—because the wedding was top secret!
Cody, who is 51 years younger than her new husband, took to Twitter on Aug. 4 to clarify why her new stepdaughter was not in attendance.
“@avivadrescher was not the ONLY “NO SHOW”..because we DID NOT TELL ANYONE!!!!” the bride wrote. “Neither family members were aware!! My #HUSBAND & myself only allowed the world to view our love via #RHONY @bravotv so that the public can understand that #truelove & #soulmates exist despite ageism,& cultural differences!! We are truly not into “showbiz” -only into each other… Certain moments in life are #priceless!!!!!”
Holding a bouquet of mixed white and yellow roses, Cody wore a fitted white wedding gown while Teichner wore a suit and tie with a yellow pocket square. The couple said “I do” before an officiant and only a handful of other people. Teichner surprised everyone when he popped the question to Cody in front of his daughter and cast mate Sonja Morgan on an episode of the reality show.
Meanwhile, Drescher, who actively defended her father and Cody’s relationship on the Bravo show throughout the season, was across the country in the Hamptons at Sag Harbor with her husband and kids.
“Ice cream in Sag Harbor. #family #SummerNights #RHONY,” Drescher captioned an image of herself with her family on Aug. 4.
Cody and Teichner jetted off to Hawaii for their honeymoon. The nail designer shared a scenic snap of Turtle Bay Beach to her Instagram on Aug. 4 with the caption: “Hi gorgeous!! #Hawaii.”
