Sunshine, fireworks and s’mores! Bob Guiney married his fiancée, Jessica Canyon, last month at a luxe beachfront villa in Punta Mita, Mexico. Now, as the newlyweds pack their bags for a January honeymoon to the Moon Palace Jamaica Grande, the Bachelor season 4 star is opening up exclusively to Us Weekly about the romantic November 11 nuptials.
“The whole day was absolutely perfect,” Guiney, 45, tells Us. “It was a real family-centric day too. We had our nephew Jack as our ring bearer, my sister Dee Dee was our best woman and Jessica’s brother Kyle was our man of honor. Our moms were excellent as our flower girls! And our brother-in-law JD did such a great job as our officiant. He really loves us both, so it was funny and touching. My buddy [and bandmate in Band From TV and Guiney & Grimes] Scott Grimes sang “Come to Me” right after our vows and it was just beautiful!”
The reality star, who competed for Trista Sutter’s heart on season 1 of The Bachelorette in 2003 before starring on The Bachelor later that year, also shared a series of stunning photos from the ceremony at Casa Entre Rocas exclusively with Us Weekly.
“We had a sunset wedding, and it was absolutely beautiful,” Guiney tells Us. “So happy that we made it through the day and it all went off without a hitch!”
According to the TV personality, who regularly appears on Today’s “Guys Tell All” segment, his bride “planned everything down to the letter.” However, Canyon, who wore a stunning Atelier Pronovias gown, had one final surprise for her groom at their wedding. “[She] kept me in the loop on almost all of it … until fireworks started going off right after our first dance,” he explains. “It was awesome!”
After the pair said their I do’s, they snacked on s’mores with their guests. “Dessert is the best part of every meal,” Guiney says. “We had a s’mores station on the rooftop deck so that everyone could get some extra sweets! Literally right after this picture [above] was taken, a huge marshmallow fight broke out … and we were picking up melted marshmallows for days!”
