Exclusive: Beyonce's Dad "Proud" of Way She Handled Kanye Incident

Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles is proud of how his daughter, 28, consoled Taylor Swift at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.
After winning video of the year, Beyonce invited Swift on stage to finish her Best Female Video acceptance speech, which Kanye West famously interrupted earlier in the night because he felt Beyonce deserved to win.
"It wasn't my decision to bring Taylor out," Mathew Knowles, who also serves as Beyonce's manager, tells Usmagazine.com. "It was all Beyonce's decision. I want to be clear about that. My job is to execute and come up with some ideas, but ultimately that was Beyonce's decision."
"I can only say it was a proud night for me as a manager, but more importantly as a father," he adds, noting that daughter Solange performed on the show as well.
"I've always said the thing that makes me most proud about Beyonce is not how many records she sold or how many plaques she has or how many awards; it's that she's a genuine good person," he tells Us. "I know it's hard for people to believe that she can really be that nice of a person, but she really is."

As for West, 32, he told Jay Leno Monday night that he's taking "some time off" to figure out the reasons behind his behavior.
"I am a celebrity and that's just something I'm going to have to deal with," he said.

Beyonce did an incredibly sweet thing. I've long heard that she's one of the nicest people in entertainment. She didn't even come at Etta James' nasty when Etta made that ugly remark to Beyonce. Only thing Beyonce did was make a movie about her that Etta gave permission for and Etta said that she loved the movie. Beyonce constantly praised Etta, too. Even after Etta's ugly comment, the only thing Beyonce said was that she was still one of her role models. So this woman has a good heart.
A Vibe 2001 article printed a letter from those other girls saying for Matthew Knowles not to conduct anymore business for them, and that was two weeks before they were to shoot the video for Say My Name. The record company didn't think it would be a good idea for the group to have multiple managers. Again, there was never a problem with Mr. Knowles' management until the group got more famous, and they were under his management for several years. It was only after Beyonce became everyone's favorite because her voice, looks and stage prescence it became an issue. I thought it was a prank by MTV, just like the Eninem and Bruno stunt they pulled a few months ago. MTV is known for pulling stunts all the time, and I thought they were making a joke that Kanye spazzed out again. I know that Beyonce and Taylor had to be confused by what was really going on. I didn't know it was real until Taylor left the stage. Anyway, Beyonce did a great thing by letting her come back on stage. I feel sorry for Beyonce that she didn't get her own individual moment, either. Oh well, I heard that she's very nice and it didn't surprise me that she did this.
You should google the history of the girl group for correct info. they were let go. Those girls left Destiny's child two weeks before the Say My Name video. They didn't get fired. But the record company told Mr. Knowles to proceed without them, so that's why they had to bring in new girls. They were just jealous that Beyonce became everybody's favorite from the group because of her voice, beauty and charisma. Those girls had no problem while the group was struggling to get noticed. It's only when they became a big group. Please a lot of groups go through lineup changes even The Beatles.

Nobody remembers those girls from Destiny Child Beyonce always had the voice and charisma. Her family put all the money into the group and managed the group. Those girls were fine with the situation until they started to get bigger, and Beyonce was becoming more and more famous because she was everybody favorite's. Even The Beatles didn't have the original lineup they started with. It was just that Destiny Child was famous when they went through their group changes. Give me a break.

I liked beyonce better when she first came out in destiny child...before she fired her friends from the group. it was the conbination of all of the group that made them famous ..Mariah has always been solo. I am a Taylor Swift fan. Before VMA I did not know who Beyonce was now, I am a BIG Beyonce Fan. What a class act.
Kanye West did this to get some attention and you're damn right he did! I have to say as much as I hated him for ruining Taylor's moment, he did what he did pretty good, in terms of getting attention. I mean look at all these videos and news about him. He's all over the place. I think these days he's known more for his stupid behavior than his music. I'm sad for him.
I think kenya needs to stay clear of beyonce and surround himself with good people that will help him heal from the pain he has suffered. He was just trying to make her happy and it ended up in his face and now he is left to clean up the mess.
