Beyonce, Fergie, and Justin Timberlake were among the stars leading the online celebrations of the USA's women's national soccer team's accomplishments, as they won their record third World Cup title on Sunday, July 5.
The U.S. defeated Japan 5 to 2 in the match that took place in Vancouver, Canada at the end of the July 4th holiday weekend. And America's high-profile soccer fans were quick to jump online and pay tribute to the national treasures.
Beyonce got into the spirit of things by wearing a soccer kit with her name "Yonce" on the back and shared a photo via Instagram of herself watching the game on the TV, with the simple caption, "U.S.A." Her daughter Blue Ivy Carter (with husband Jay Z) was also given her own strip with her initials, BIC, emblazoned on the back.
Following in Beyonce's footsteps, Black Eyed Peas' Fergie got dressed up in a personalized soccer outfit — although she teamed her get up with a pair of super-sexy, seriously short jean shorts!
"CONGRATS TEAM USA on winning the WOMEN's WORLDCUP!" the 40-year-old mom of one wrote in her caption. "Impromptu photoshoot with my friends Thanks @karllagerfeld & @chanelofficial for the megaphone + boots!!"
Justin Timberlake took to Twitter for his celebrations. The new dad was succinct with his words but left his fans in no doubt as to his excitement at the final score. "USA! USA! USA!!!!!!! #USWNT," he wrote.
