Beyonce Rides Bike to Her Last of Three Brooklyn Concerts
Fame hasn't changed Beyonce. The humble "Grown Woman" singer revealed via Instagram on Tuesday, Aug. 6, that she biked to her third and final show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Monday. The concert marked the final U.S. stop of the "Grown Woman" singer's Mrs. Carter Show World Tour before she heads to London.
Beyonce rode her bike more than three miles from her home in New York City's TriBeca neighborhood across the Brooklyn Bridge. Performing for a star-studded crowd that included Gwyneth Paltrow, Tilda Swinton and Rosie O'Donnell, the 31-year-old diva treated the audience to yet another surprise: an appearance from Jay Z!
The rapper, 43, joined his wife of five years on stage while she was in the midst of singing "Bow Down." Jay Z then performed his latest single, "Tom Ford," before giving Beyonce a kiss on the cheek and making his exit. The following night, Jay Z resumed his Legends of the Summer Stadium Tour (with Justin Timberlake) at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.
(Like Beyonce, Jay Z chose an unconventional means of transportation prior to his eighth and final concert at the Barclays Center in November 2012: the subway. The hip-hop heavyweight rode the R-train -- and went unrecognized by artist Ellen Grossman -- before taking the stage.)
Beyonce will next perform on Saturday, Aug. 17, at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, England, before heading to Latin America. The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour will return to the U.S. this fall and wrap up Dec. 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
