Sad day for Billy Bob Thornton's family.

The actor's estranged daughter, Amanda Brumfield, was convicted of aggravated manslaughter in the 2008 death of a 1-year-old girl in Orlando, Fla., the Associated Press reports.

Brumfield, now 32, was babysitting her best friend's child, Olivia Garcia, overnight in October 2008. The Oscar-winner's daughter claimed that the little girl hit her head while attempting to climb out of her playpen; prosecutors deemed it "impossible" that a fall from such a short height could cause a 3.5-inch fracture on the child's skull.

During Friday's sentencing, Brumfield was acquitted of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse charges.

Her sentencing is expected this July. Brumfield's trial played out in the same courthouse where Casey Anthony's high-profile trial (in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee) is taking place.
