Someone give this girl a tiara! Blake Lively, who’s been channeling Disney princesses as of late, took to Instagram on Thursday, June 9, to share an adorable Little Mermaid–themed throwback.
Prior to posting her fairy-tale-minded ‘gram, the Shallows star, 28, uploaded a BTS pic from her upcoming shark thriller. “There’s only one thing more terrifying than this…” she captioned a snap of herself sitting on a rock, a horrified expression on her face as a great white fin looms by in surrounding waters.
Then came the punch line. “…THIS,” she wrote alongside a sweet shot of her younger self — again, perched on a rock — but with an animated Ariel swimming by instead of a monster of the deep.
This is the third time this year that the pregnant-again actress has flaunted her affinity for Disney royalty. Back in May, Lively — who is expecting her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds — put her baby bump on display in two princess-inspired gowns.
On Friday, May 13, the Gossip Girl alum donned a powder blue Vivienne Westwood number that closely resembled Cinderella’s iconic ball attire. The dress featured intricate beading on the bodice and an ample, multi-tiered skirt. Lively even wore a headband reminiscent of the iconic character’s own hair accessory.
The next day, on May 14, she slipped into an icy blue Atelier Versace creation that was very similar to the cerulean ensemble Queen Elsa wears in Frozen.
But on May 21, the mom of James, 17 months, joked that her recent fashion choices were nods not to the cartoon princesses, but to their wicked counterparts. “Everyone thinks I was inspired by the princesses,” the blonde beauty captioned a photo of herself making an exaggerated face while holding up a screenshot of Little Mermaid villain Ursula. “If they only knew…”
