He won't back down. Blake Shelton is suing In Touch Weekly magazine over a recent cover that claimed the newly single country star was headed to rehab after his split from wife Miranda Lambert.

According to Rolling Stone, Shelton filed the lawsuit on Monday, Oct. 19, in Los Angeles County Superior Court. He is reportedly seeking more than $1 million in damages, as well as an injunction to prevent the mag from reprinting the claims made in the article.

The cover in question, published in late September, featured a photo of Shelton, 39, with the headline "Rehab for Blake: He Finally Hits Rock Bottom." Other cover lines claim that his drinking played a role in the end of his marriage to Lambert.

"Mr. Shelton is not in rehab and has no plans to go to rehab, which Bauer would have known had it bothered to contact any of Mr. Shelton's representatives prior to publication of its misleading Rehab Story," the lawsuit reads, per Rolling Stone.

Shelton is currently serving as a coach for Season 9 of The Voice. He was also recently announced as a performer for the upcoming CMA Awards in November, where his ex-wife is scheduled to take the stage as well. It will be the former couple's first red carpet event since their split this past summer.
