An autopsy will be performed following Bobbi Kristina Brown's death

Update: A representative for the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office tells Us Weekly in a statement, "The initial portion of the autopsy has been completed. The autopsy does not show an obvious underlying cause of death and no significant injuries were noted. No previously unknown medical conditions that could have contributed to death were identified."

"Additional laboratory testing will be performed," the statement continues. "Subpoenas have been issued to obtain needed documentary information. We do not plan to complete the death certificate or determine a cause and manner of death until all test results are completed and all investigative, medical, and other documentary records are received and thoroughly reviewed. We anticipate that these processes will take several weeks."

Questions left unanswered. As previously reported, Bobbi Kristina Brown died on Sunday, July 26, at the age of 22 after nearly six months of treatment. It is still unclear, however, just what led to her untimely death and the medical details surrounding it.

A representative from the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office in Georgia told the Associated Press in a statement on Monday, July 27, that an autopsy will be performed to further evaluate the loss of life. Brown, the only child of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, was first hospitalized on Jan. 31 after being found unresponsive in a tub in her Georgia home.

The rep told the AP that the nearly six months Brown spent undergoing various treatments may "complicate" the report. She was finally moved to hospice care last month following her time in the hospital.

"Interpretation of autopsy findings and other information will also be challenging," the office told the AP. "However, an autopsy could be helpful to address questions which may arise about the cause of her unresponsiveness and eventual death."

The Houston family broke the news of Brown's death on Sunday evening, telling Us Weekly in a statement, "Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July 26, 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."

She was remembered after her death by big stars such as Oprah Winfrey, Diddy, and Missy Elliott. Winfrey wrote simply, "Peace at Last! #BobbiKristina," while Diddy shared a sweet vintage photo of Brown with her parents, and Elliott added, "My heart is truly heavy.
