Bobby Brown is getting support from Johnny Gill during this difficult time. The singer’s New Edition bandmate told Entertainment Tonight that he’s been in contact with Brown since his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was moved to hospice care earlier this week.
“State of mind? In a nutshell, not good. Not good,” Gill said of Brown. “We just had a conversation yesterday. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.”
“It was no secret that Bobby and Bobbi Kris had an estranged relationship for a certain period of time,” the 49-year-old added. “One Father’s Day, it was a few years back, she called and he was just so over the top and elated that she had reached out. They started from that point to rebuild that part of their relationship.”
Bobbi Kristina, 22, was hospitalized and placed in a medically induced coma at North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Ga., after being found unconscious and facedown in her bathtub at her Atlanta-area condo on Jan. 31. She was later moved to Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital, then to an undisclosed rehabilitation facility, before being transported to Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga., on Wednesday, June 24. (Pat Houston recently said her condition has deteriorated.) Amid the new development, a lawsuit was filed alleging that Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, assaulted her hours before she was found.
“We at the end of the day have to sit still until everything is completed to be able to make a full assessment of how to deal and what happens next,” Gill said. “But it’s a lot, a lot that’s going on. A lot.”
