Bobby Brown Speaks Out on Bobbi Kristina, Slams False Reports

Bobby Brown released a new statement about the situation with his daughter Bobbi Kristina

While Bobbi Kristina remains on life support, conflicting stories have surfaced regarding her fate. On the eve of the anniversary of Whitney Houston's death, Bobby Brown is speaking out.

"God is hearing our prayers," Bobby told ABC News in a statement. "We continue to request privacy in this matter. We thank everyone that supported the vigil for Bobbi Kristina."

On Monday night, Brown's side of the family hosted a Shining a Light for Healing vigil, where the public was invited to join friends and family in praying for Bobbi Kristina, 21, who remains in a medically induced coma after being found unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31. While Bobby is grateful for everyone's support, he felt the need through his attorney to comment further in regards to erroneous stories concerning his daughter.

"We support the candlelight vigil for Bobbi Kristina. The Brown family is amazed by the love and support from all that attended," legal counsel for Bobby Brown told The Insider With Yahoo on Tuesday. "However the false reports that continue to appear in print and on the internet are egregious, false and will be dealt with at an appropriate time. In particular, the false reporting of TMZ, The National Enquirer, The Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Daily Mail (UK) citing, police sources, family sources and Bobby Brown himself, will receive my attention. The desire to be 'first' has clouded the judgment of many reporters as they forgo accuracy. This is a criminal investigation and the integrity of that process requires silence. We continue to request privacy in this matter. We thank everyone that supported the vigil for Bobbi Kristina. God is hearing our prayers."

Although Brown's lawyer does not identify the false stories in question, it likely has to do with reports out earlier this week stating that Bobbi Kristina would be taken off life support on the third anniversary of her mother's death.

TMZ cited "family sources" as saying, "Bobby has finally made the decision, realizing there is no hope for his 21-year-old daughter to recover." The outlet went on to report that Cissy Houston, Whitney's mother, also wanted to pull the plug on Feb. 11 to "bond mother and daughter for eternity."

Both Us Weekly and E! report that is not the case.

"She's progressing," Shayne Brown — sister and nephew to Bobby Brown — told Entertainment Tonight. "She's getting better. We just ask for people to continue to pray."

In a separate story, TMZ also cited legal sources as saying that foul play is suspected in the Bobbi Kristina case and it centers on her boyfriend Nick Gordon. While Bobby Brown did not comment on specifics, the statement does confirm that a criminal investigation is taking place.
