With a little help from his friend! Bono finally made it to The Tonight Show on Friday, May 8, and poked fun of his bike injury with Jimmy Fallon in the process. The 54-year-old rocker got back on a bike following his accident, and, well, got hurt once more in a funny sketch.
U2 previously had to cancel their appearance on The Tonight Show back in November when the Irish rocker seriously hurt himself in a bike accident. Last month, he said in an interview with The New York Times that he still can't play guitar because of it.
"It feels like I have somebody else's hand. I can’t bend these, and this is like rigor mortis," he said, looking down at his hand. "But they say that nerves heal about a millimeter a week, so in about 13 months I should know if it's coming back."
The Irish frontman also fractured his left arm, his shoulder blade, and was left with a facial fracture.
"I really used to think that my head was harder than any surface it came in contact with, and I don't anymore," he continued to NYT. "I didn't come off a Harley-Davidson. I came off a push bike and smashed myself to bits. There is no glory here."
