Bono recently revealed why he always wears sunglasses -- see what the U2 frontman had to say

Bono rarely steps out without wearing his trademark sunglasses, but the reason he goes dark has nothing to do with fashion. The U2 frontman recently revealed that he wears glasses (even inside) because he suffers from glaucoma.

"This is a good place to explain to people that I've had glaucoma for the last 20 years," the 54-year-old explained during a recording for the Graham Norton Show, when asked if he ever takes his shades off.

He added: "I have good treatments and I am going to be fine."

Glaucoma can make the eyes more sensitive to light, and blindness and optic nerve damage can occur if it isn't treated properly. Wearing sunglasses helps ease pressure and prevents the condition from possibly getting worse.

As for Bono, adding a cool pair of sunglasses to his rocker attire every day is just part of his morning routine now. He joked to Norton: "You're not going to get this out of your head now and you will be saying 'Ah, poor old blind Bono.'"
