Brad Pitt Voluntarily Took a Drug Test Amid Child Abuse Investigation

Doing what’s best for the kids. Brad Pitt voluntarily took a drug test during the investigation into allegations of child abuse made against him, an insider tells Us Weekly.

“The DCFS [Department of Community & Family Services] wouldn’t compel someone to provide the urine sample for the drug test; it would be voluntary,” a legal source tells Us.

TMZ reported on Thursday, September 28, that Pitt, 52, had offered to take a drug test shortly after the jet plane incident to prove that he had nothing to hide. A second source confirms this to Us.

As previously reported, the FBI is currently gathering evidence to evaluate whether to investigate Pitt on a federal level. Sources previously told Us that the Oscar-winning actor was caught on tape “looking drunk” and “yelling” at his wife, Angelina Jolie, and their children aboard a private jet on Wednesday, September 14.

Another source told Us that Pitt “has cooperated [with the investigation]. He certainly wants what’s best for his kids and for them to be in the best environment, and he’ll do anything that will put them in the best position.”

“He knows the severity of the allegations and wants to be cleared of abuse before he sees them,” another insider previously told Us of Pitt. “He is confident he will be cleared. The kids are asking to see Brad, so he is hoping to see them next week.”

Jolie, 41, filed for divorce on Monday, September 19, a move that blindsided the War Machine star and severed communication between Pitt and the kids.

“Angelina filed the papers a minute before the courts closed,” a source told Us previously, calling Pitt a “shattered man” who hasn’t been allowed to see his children since his estranged wife’s divorce filing. “He didn’t have a lawyer or anything. He has been crying constantly.”

Pitt and the Maleficent actress are parents of Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shilo, 10 and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

A rep for Jolie told Us that the actress is looking out for the best interest of her children as well. “Angelina is devastated that it has come to this but will do everything in her power to protect her family.”

The UN special envoy asked for sole physical custody in her divorce filing, but a source told Us that Pitt is also fighting for custody.
