She came in like a Wrecking Ball-oon! Britney Spears celebrated her 34th birthday on Wednesday, Dec. 2, with a decorative surprise gift from her fellow pop star Miley Cyrus.
“Had the CUTEST surprise party today!!!” Spears wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo with her family members in a decorated room. “A special thank you to Miss @MileyCyrus for sending these awesome balloons!”
The reigning pop princess and Cyrus, 23, have long supported each other since Cyrus broke out from her Disney Channel persona several years ago. Spears first reached out to Cyrus via social media in June 2013, after the music video for “We Can’t Stop” was released. “Maybe you can teach me how to twerk sometime LOL,” Spears tweeted at her younger protege.
A month later, Cyrus told HuffPost UK that Spears was the one person who could empathize with her. “Everyone goes through a time in their life where they don’t want their picture taken every day,” Cyrus noted. “She just never had that time where she could say, ‘I’m going through something right now and need to shut down.’ I also don’t have that, so it’s good to have that one person in my life who gets it.”
Spears, meanwhile, enjoyed fun-filled surprise festivities at home with her family. The mom of Jayden, 9, and Sean, 10, shared several additional snaps from her surprise party, including shots of her adorable fondant-coated cake. “Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes today! I loved reading them just as much as I loved my teacup cake.”
Her dad, Jamie Spears, also caught a treat (literally) for his daughter. “My daddy caught a big one!” the songstress captioned a pic of her father holding a huge fish. “#HappyBirthdayToMe.”
