Read between my strides! Calvin Harris has been spotted out and about wearing Kanye West’s signature Yeezy sneakers in the weeks following his split from girlfriend Taylor Swift.
The 32-year-old DJ-producer wore a dark gray pair of West’s fashionable footwear while leaving the gym in Los Angeles on Friday, June 17, and even trotted out a light gray pair while walking around on Thursday, June 16.
The “This is What You Came For” producer’s fashion choice is an interesting one given West’s troubled history with Swift, 26. The 39-year-old rapper famously interrupted the “Wildest Dream” singer’s 2009 MTV Video Music Award acceptance speech, and then name-dropped her on his new track “Famous” this past spring.
In response, Swift made a pointed snipe at West during her acceptance speech at the Grammys, telling “all the young women out there” not to let anyone “undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.”
Most recently, West’s wife Kim Kardashian weighed in on the ongoing feud, defending her husband’s decision to go full force with a line about having sex with Swift.
“She totally approved that,” the 35-year-old reality star said in an interview with GQ. “She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t.… It was funny because [on the call with Kanye, Taylor] said, ‘When I get on the Grammy red carpet, all the media is going to think that I’m so against this, and I’ll just laugh and say, ‘The joke’s on you, guys. I was in on it the whole time.’ And I’m like, wait, but [in] your Grammy speech, you completely dissed my husband just to play the victim again.”
Harris, meanwhile, has already made it known that he’s taking the breakup with Swift just fine (as Us Weekly previously reported, he was the one who called off the relationship).
When approached by photographers on Thursday, June 16, about the pictures that surfaced showing Swift canoodling with Avengers star Tom Hiddleston, Harris smiled.
“All good,” he said. “[She’s] just doing her thing.”
