When Carrie Underwood marries Mike Fisher this summer, one wedding party member is bound to stand out: Ace, her chihuahua.

"He'll be one of the ring-bearers," Underwood jokingly told UsMagazine.com during Tuesday's Pedigree Adoption Drive event at the Bideawee Manhattan Dog Shelter.

"I don't know if I'll give him the actual ring," the singer added of her pooch. "He would probably run away with it or eat it or something."

"He's like my kid," the singer says of Ace. "It would be like if I was getting married and I had a child — of course my child would be in the wedding!"

Other wedding details? Underwood, 27, said that the dress is "in the works…it's very much in the beginning stages, but it's very me: it's girly and it's pretty and simple and glamorous." (She didn't name the designer.)

Underwood and Ottawa Senators player Fisher, 29, became engaged last December after dating for over a year.

The hockey star has helped with the wedding planning, Underwood said. "We’re still in the beginning but it’s a lot of fun," she said.

In January, the singer told UsMagazine.com that their plans for a small wedding probably wouldn't come through. "I don't see that happening…there are so many people. He has a huge family; they're all really close. My family is big, but we're not that tight-knit. His is about three times the size of mine."
