Casey Kasem Buried Six Months After His Death in Norway Without Kids’ Knowledge

Kerri Kasem's rep has confirmed to Us Weekly that Casey Kasem was finally laid to rest in Norway last week, six months after his death.

Six months after his death, American radio legend Casey Kasem was laid to rest in Norway last week, a rep for his daughter Kerri Kasem told Us Weekly on Monday, Dec. 22.

Casey was buried last week at the Vestre Gravlund, a large cemetery in the country, without the consultation of his children. "Jean buried him without telling the kids," Kerri's rep also told ABC News. "She does not have to tell them since she is the conservator over his remains."

Casey's delayed burial brings back to light a long and bitter family saga between the iconic American Top 40 host's three children and their stepmother Jean Kasem.

Kerri took to her Facebook on Monday to address her stepmother's actions. "This morning my family and I learned that my Dad's abusive wife Jean Thompson Kasem and their daughter Liberty conned a cemetery in Norway into burying my Dad there," she wrote.

"Even with ALL the letters, attached below, from my father's friends and family stating that he wanted to be buried in the UNITED STATES, the country in which he was born and raised, his wishes were, once again, ignored by his unfaithful wife. HOW MANY MORE WITNESSES DO YOU NEED… WEST LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT WHERE ARE YOU?!"

Kasem died at 82 on Father's Day this past June, after being hospitalized for an infected bedsore. In the months leading up to his death, Kasem suffered from Lewy body dementia and was bedridden.

One month after her father's death, Kerri told CNN that Casey's body was missing. "We are not surprised," the radio host told the network, hinting that she suspected Jean was behind it. "We expected something like this to happen."

Kerri's publicist claimed at the time that Jean Kasem had removed her husband's body from the funeral home in Washington state. Jean, however, denied the allegations, telling CNN: "Would you leave us to grieve in peace?"

The internal family feud started after Casey's kids claimed that Jean — whom the radio icon had married in 1980 — had prevented them from seeing their ailing father.
