Casey Kasem Missing, Judge Orders Investigation Into His Whereabouts
Casey Kasem has gone missing.
According to the Associated Press, on Monday, May 12, Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy ordered an investigation into the whereabouts of the famed radio personality.
Kasem, 82, has been spending time in the Berkley East Convalescent Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. but was purportedly removed from the area without notice.
CNN reports that Judge Murphy expressed "grave concern" for Kasem's "safety, health and well-being."
The American Top 40 host suffers from Parkinson's disease and an ensuing feud broke out last year between his current wife Jean Kasem, and his children Kerri, Julie, and Mike, over his healthcare and visitation.
While Jean Kasem has been making the decisions on Kasem's care, Kerri Kasem wrote on her official Facebook page on Monday evening, "Justice was finally served! I just won temporary conservatorship over my father's healthcare. We have been vindicated by the court. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes and support through this entire ordeal."
Kerri went on to add, "I believe my father's wife fled the country (or possibly went to an Indian reservation) with my Dad because she knew I would win in court today. The judge ordered Adult Protective Services, the PVP Attorney and the police to look for him. Please pray that he is safe."
