Another legend lost. Following news of the death of Glenn Frey on Monday, January 18, the Eagles rocker’s beloved friends and fellow musicians took to social media to express their shock over the iconic musician’s death.
“… sigh Glenn Frey belongs to the city still. damn man. all these legends man … #TheEagles,” Questlove tweeted on Monday, January 18. “R.I.P. Glen Frey … Thank you for all the great songs and powerful lyrics … Jesus can the reaper please take break for awhile …” Nikki Sixx added on Twitter.
Kiss rocker Paul Stanley also expressed his shock to learn the “Hotel California” lyricist had passed away. “SHOCKED to report the death of GLENN FREY. Eagle & brilliant songwriter,” he tweeted Monday afternoon. “We shared some memories at RRHOF. Shocked.”
As previously reported, Frey died at the age of 67 due to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.
Eagles bandmate Don Henley also expressed his grief, telling The Hollywood Reporter that Frey was “like a brother” to him.
