Too much loss. Celebrities took to Twitter on Tuesday, April 7, to mourn the death of Walter Scott.
The South Carolina man, 50, was shot and killed by a police officer named Michael T. Slager in North Charleston, S.C. on Tuesday. Video of the incident, provided to the New York Times, quickly went viral as it shows the officer repeatedly shooting Scott as he runs away. Officer Slager has since been fired from the force and charged with murder.
The tragedy follows earlier deaths of African-American men at the hands of police officers, including those of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, leading to added unrest and discontent. Stars voiced their sadness and concern about Scott's death on social media, sending messages of heartbreak.
