Walking Dead actor Chad L. Coleman apologized for flipping out on a New York City subway

Chad L. Coleman regrets going off the rails — figuratively speaking — on a New York City subway last week. As seen in a now-viral video posted by TMZ, the Walking Dead actor went ballistic and caused a scene on a Brooklyn-bound 4 train last Friday, May 1, screaming at passengers as he paced up and down the car.

"I want to know where my humanitarians are!" he yelled repeatedly. "Yes, I'm Chad L. Coleman! I'm on The Wire, The Walking Dead! If you care, f—ing care! If you need to write about it, if you need to record it, get your phone out. And when you record what I said, tell me what the f— you exposed: Nothing but the truth!"

According to TMZ, Coleman's tirade was sparked by someone on the train using a racial slur to refer to him. The actor told the site he overheard a man telling his friend, "No, we don't know that n—-r," when she said she recognized him.

Coleman also maintains that he was not drunk at the time — just riled up over recent events. He told TMZ he had a lot of "built-up frustration" because of the situation in Baltimore over the death of Freddie Gray, and just couldn't control his anger. He also noted that he wished to apologize to his family and to the cast of The Walking Dead

TWD producer and writer Scott M. Gimple, for one, voiced his support for the star, tweeting on May 2: "Being made 2 feel less can set us off in ways we might regret/But asking people where the humanitarian is in them isn't such a bad question."
