Already so in love! Chad Michael Murray and his new girlfriend, Nicky Whelan, looked head over heels for each other at the season two screening of Chosen in L.A. on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The costar couple, who began dating shortly after Murray called off his seven-year engagement to Kenzie Dalton, gushed about their relationship and starring on Crackle.com's Chosen series together to Us Weekly on the red carpet.
"It's very lovely waking up at five a.m. together and both going to work!" Whelan, 32, told Us with a laugh. "It's really nice. We worked together on [upcoming action film] Left Behind and then by coincidence went on to Chosen. I must say, it's a really lovely experience to get to go from one to the next. It never happens that way. If we could do it all the time we would because it's lovely. It's fun!"
"We definitely support each other," she added. "We are both the same age in the same industry, and there's a really great support system we have for each together and an understanding." Whelan also told Us, "We are very lucky and very grateful! We have had such an incredible journey together so far! I feel like he's my twin, it's really lovely!"
Murray, 32, publicly announced he was dating Whelan in a Twitter message on Oct. 30. Just one month earlier, a rep for the One Tree Hill alum confirmed to Us that he and girlfriend Dalton had called off their seven-year engagement earlier in the year.
"She is nothing but positive energy. I love her energy," Murray told Us of his new love. "She is a smart woman. When you are on a set and around people with positive energy who want to do nothing but contribute and make it better, it makes everyone around you better so it makes everyone better."
The couple seems to be moving full speed ahead with their relationship. They spent Thanksgiving with Murray's family in Buffalo, New York, and plan to spend Christmas with Whelan's family in Australia. But it won't be Murray's first time visiting his girlfriend's family — he's already met them and got their approval. "Who wouldn't approve?" the Hall Pass actress asked. "He is a wonderful man!"
