Chaz on Girlfriend: "She's Been Amazing"

He's got her, babe.
Although he is perhaps most well-known as the eldest child of Cher and the late Sonny Bono, Chaz Bono has another very important woman in his life: Jennifer Elia, his girlfriend of four years.
In part two of an interview with ET's Mary Hart, airing tonight, Bono (formerly known as Chastity) says that Elia has "been amazing" throughout the process of his sex changed, announced in June.

"I feel really grateful to be going through this with a partner," says Bono, 40.
Chaz's decision to become a man -- he says the process took "almost a decade" -- was no surprise to Elia.

"I didn't just spring this on Jennifer recently," Bono explains."This was something she knew about shortly after we met." (The pair were set up through mutual friends at a barbecue thrown at Bono's house, he says.)
Bono also fields Hart's question about the intricacies of a relationship between a woman and someone undergoing a female-to-male sex change: "Our relationship always modeled a heterosexual relationship, emotionally and intellectually," he says. "So now it does physically as well."

Cher's reaction to her child's transformation, however, remains private.
"The people in my life are just happy that I'm doing this," Bono says, "and seeing the positive effect that it's having on me."

A woman is GENETICALLY always a woman with the chromosome pair XX in each cell nucleus. SHE would have to take male hormones for the rest of her life or her body would naturally look "female" again. She has no testicles to form testosterone. So far, NOT ONE doctor can implant male organs on a female or female organs in a male. It's just not possible.

I admit I am confused because apparently he/she is in a lesbian relationship yet he/she wants to be a man so how does that work if his girlfriend wants to be with a woman. why not just be with a man instead of a woman who becomes one. Like I said I am confused..
She looks exactly the same to me. She said she had a mastectomy to get rid of her breast but they still appear to be there. No facial hair. Her features have not become more masculine. I am not judging. Just curious how there doesn't seem to be any difference physically.

Well, I hope it makes y'all feel really wonderful about yourselves to be directing venom at a person that you don't even know who never did a thing in the world to hurt any of you. Chaz has always seemed like a very nice person. This was not a decision that he made overnight. Yes, he was born female but he is undergoing treatment to become the man he always felt like he was meant to be. I really don't know why so many people have a problem with it. Just because it isn't something that I would do does not mean that I have the right to judge someone else for doing so. Power to Chaz--I wish there were more people as genuinely nice as he seems to be and fewer hate-spewers.

If this is what makes Him happy so be it... If There is a God, he/she gave us is free will and the ability to decide what we want to do with our lives. God wouldn't judge us others what they do with our lives, if they aren't stealing/killing etc. but as long as we all live rightly and justly we will do just fine. So if this is what Chaz wants with his life, he's not killing people or stealing or coveting His neighbors wife, he is not hurting any of us at all. His sex change isn't going to affect my life in any way so let him live his life.

Chaz, Good for You! I am so happy for you, as are millions of others. There were NO women involved in Sodom and Gomorrah's destruction, according to the Bible, so no worries there (apparently Deborah hasn't actually read it)!

It will always amaze me at how people feel they have a right to judge others. If a person is truly religious, he or she knows that their job on this earth is not to judge others, but rather to show charity. Talk about irony.
